DNA Paternity Test (Legal or Informational)

This is the most commonly used paternity test. It determines if a man is the biological father of a child. Paternity tests are normally requested for child support cases, child custody cases, social security benefits, inheritances and more.

Results will be available in 1-2 business days after the samples and paperwork are received at the lab.

Non-invasive Prenatal Paternity (NiPP) Test (Informational Only)

NiPP testing allows you to establish paternity before the baby is even born when the mother is at least 10 weeks pregnant. NiPP testing carries much less risk than invasive methods like amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS).

The mother will have two 10ml tubes of blood drawn and the alleged father will have four mouth buccal swabs tested.

Results will be available in 4-7 business days after the samples and paperwork are received at the lab.

Grandparentage Test (Legal or Informational)

Determines if a biological relationship exists between the alleged grandparent and child. This is most often used when a father is unavailable for testing or when he refuses to test.

Those that need to be swabbed include the child, and one of the alleged father’s biological parents. The mother can be swabbed as well, in order to strengthen the results, although this is optional.

Results will be available in 1-2 business days after the samples and paperwork are received at the lab.

Avuncular Test (Legal or Informational)

Determines if a biological relationship exists between an alleged aunt/uncle and child. This is most often used when a father is unavailable for testing or when he refuses to test.

Those that need to be swabbed include the child, and one of the alleged father’s biological siblings. The mother can be swabbed as well, in order to strengthen the results, although this is optional.
